Montgomery County Master Gardeners engage in projects that foster horticulture activities designed to enhance quality of life for everyone. We have met or exceeded the required classroom and hands-on training hours in accordance with UT Extension guidelines. And year after year we continue to meet such requirements to maintain our status as Certified Master Gardeners.
Sounds dry as dirt? In Montgomery County we are anything but! Yes, we take our responsibilities seriously, and have loads of fun doing so. Comradery and teamwork make our efforts enjoyable and satisfying. We don’t lack for finding the perfect niche for our unique interests and areas of expertise.

Welcome to the Montgomery County Master Gardener Association webpage. There is much to love about gardening. But what would happen if we understood how and why things happen in the garden? Then we would have a chance to make a difference! That is part of what being a Master Gardener is all about.
While it’s not necessary to fully understand all that’s involved in going from seed to mature plant, there are those of us who are fascinated to know the process. Equally important, we as Master Gardeners learn about soil, pests, native plants, irrigation and much more.
Just as pollinators help in fertilization, Master Gardeners spread our knowledge within the community. We participate in projects that beautify and benefit Montgomery County – sometimes hands-on, and other times we share our expertise in formal settings. Learning and teaching never stop. If you love gardening, consider becoming a Master Gardener and participating in a supportive community that shares your passion.
